Tottenham Hotspur Football Club are a very high-profile team who have boasted many great players over the years - not least in the Premier League era from 1992 onwards. As a result of the club's high-profile and the fact that they play in the biggest and best league in world club football, their players often get recognised by their country's national teams. Spurs have had international players from loads of countries in the last 22 years - Erik Thorstvedt of Norway, Gheorghe Popescu of Romania, Jurgen Klinsmann of Germany, Hugo Lloris of France, Sandro of Brazil, Roberto Soldado of Spain, Gareth Bale of Wales, Alan Hutton of Scotland, Steven Pienaar of South Africa, Stephen Carr of the Republic of Ireland, Jan Vertonghen of Belgium, Luka Modric of Croatia, Rafael van der Vaart of the Netherlands and too many Englishmen to name, for example - and the vast majority of them earn caps at international level. But not all of them... The Lilywhites have had some pretty decent players who haven't (or at least haven't yet) earned international recognition for one reason or another and that's what we're going to be looking at here. So, without further ado, here is the best uncapped Spurs eleven of the Premier League era...
11. Goalkeeper: Carlo Cudicini
Carlo Cudicini joined Spurs from Chelsea in January of 2009 and never really made the number one jersey his own at White Hart Lane - but that's not to say he wasn't a good goalkeeper. The Italian played just 19 Premier League games for the club - and an additional 18 games in other competitions - but was kept out of the team by the likes of Heurelho Gomes, Brad Friedel and Hugo Lloris up until his departure to Los Angeles Galaxy in January of 2013. Goalkeepers at Spurs usually get international recognition, so the pickings were slim for this position. Erik Thorstvedt, Ian Walker, Neil Sullivan, Kasey Keller, Paul Robinson, Stipe Pletikosa, Marton Fulop, Radek Cerny, Herurelho Gomes, Brad Frield and Hugo Lloris, for example, all earned international caps. Due to Cudicini's Italian national team snubbing, his 14 years in English football saw the English Football Association considering approaching him to play for England, but it never happened and Cudicini remains uncapped to this day.
