Bolton Wanderers vs Liverpool - Match Preview

Struggling Bolton take on misfiring Liverpool at the Reebook in the 5.30pm ESPN match.

Bolton are on their best league run of the season with seven points taken from their last five games but still they find themselves 19th in the table, with a tricky tie at home to Liverpool on the horizon for the 5.30pm kick-off on ESPN. And it doesn't get much better after today, they still have to face Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in a row. They have also just faced Manchester United. The fixture list has not been kind at all to the Wanderers. Thanks to Chelsea's failure to win at Norwich and Arsenal playing tomorrow against Manchester United, Liverpool will feel this is a chance to climb up the table and challenge again for the Champions League fourth placed spot. They will have to be wary they don't have one eye on the Carling Cup and a place at Wembley to come. The important task for Liverpool is to get scoring again with Luis Suarez still suspended.

Team News

Despite returning to training, Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen is not expected to start because of his thigh injury. Former Liverpool striker David Ngogo should play against his previous club for the first time since his £4 million move last summer. For Liverpool, Jay Spearing is a doubt with a hamstring that ruled him out against Stoke. Luis Suarez is still suspended and obviously they are struggling to get goals without him, with Andy Carroll not living up to the huge hype that came with his price tag. 2In defence, Jamie Carragher may make way for Daniel Agger.
