Cardiff City Under Malky Mackay

Cardiff City Football Club has been through a lot in the past few years; from promotion to well-publicised changes in ownership, stadium, club colours and crest; with the most recent incident being the sacking of manager Malky Mackay. With Ole Gunnar Solskjær now the man chosen to steer the good ship bluebird away from a relegation dog fight, it's important to look at just how solid the hull is. In the interest of deciding whether Solksjaer can save the club, and whether Mackay's dismissal was right, this article will look at where Cardiff City was as a football club when Malky Mackay became its manager, and where it is now. I've also interviewed a couple of long term Cardiff City fans, to get their perspective on one of the clubs most turbulent yet rewarding times. In order to rate Mackay's tenure as Cardiff manager, we're looking at four key areas - the specific results of each season he was in charge, and finally the legacy he leaves for Solskjaer.
