Carlo Ancelotti Confirmed As New Real Madrid Boss, Laurent Blanc Takes Charge At PSG

the club have announced. After signalling his intention to leave Paris Saint Germain earlier this summer, he has now got his wish to take over at The Bernabeu; with former French head coach Laurent Blanc taking over at PSG. Ancelotti is to be presented to the media on Wednesday afternoon, but the deal had reportedly been done weeks ago with the only hurdle; PSG searching for a replacement for the Italian. A statement on Real Madrid's club website describes Ancelotti as:

"More than accustomed to leading some of the continents biggest teams (Juventus, Milan, Chelsea and PSG), Ancelotti is synonymous with an exciting new project for the club."
The new Real head coach is already a decorated manager. He had lifted Madrid's holy grail; the Champions League on two occasions and also won domestic titles in England, Italy and France with Chelsea, AC Milan and PSG respectively. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has been a long time admirer of the 54-year-old. In his autobiography he says: "Carlo, you will be my coach someday." It seems that day has now arrived. Entering the door at the Parc Des Princes is former French Captain and Coach Laurent Blanc. Blanc will also face the media tomorrow, after signing a two year deal starting on July 1st with the oil-rich club. A statement on the club's official website says: "The Board of Paris Saint-Germain has given Laurent Blanc the mission to build on last season and to continue the club's ascendency towards the summits of the European game." Both managers first priorities will to keep hold of their best assets over the summer; with Cristiano Ronaldo and Thiago Silva both targets for a number of top European Clubs.
