Celtic Transfers: Bhoys Make New £1.6m Bid For Stuart Armstrong

Scottish U21 player targeted ahead of Scottish league cup final clash.

With the Scottish League Cup Final just around the corner, Celtic are looking to score an early win against opponents Dundee United by nicking their player Stuart Armstrong before the transfer deadline. Celtic have already had two separate bids rejected by United for Stuart Armstrong, as well as Scotland international winger Gary Mackay-Steven, who is already joining in the summer. They reportedly offered £150,000 to make that deal happen early, but Dundee United are understandbly less keen. The Bhoys have now tabled an improved offer for Scotland Under-21 capped Armstrong after seeing a £1.5m offer rejected last week. They're looking to bat away interest from Burnley, who have already tried to sign the player this winter. Time will now tell whether United see the £100k improvement as enough to sell one of their prized assets who helped them beat Aberdeen in the cup semi-final at the weekend.
