Chelsea Transfer News: £40 Million Wayne Rooney Bid Coming

Sunday Telegraph. Chelsea€™s first bid for the England international was rejected by the Premier League champions but now rumours are circulating that they could be set to bid a mammoth £40 million for his services. Despite constant attempts from Moyes to tell the public that Rooney is not for sale, it seems inevitable that he will be leaving Old Trafford this summer. Reports say Rooney is angry and confused by comments from Moyes suggesting he is second choice behind Robin Van Persie and with little comment from Rooney the situation looks untenable. With Mourinho this week revealing that Rooney is his only target, Stamford Bridge seems the most likely destination for Rooney but it is far from done. Despite that, a bid of this nature would be difficult for any club to reject, especially for a player who was inconsistent as Rooney in the last campaign, with this in mind United could look to cash in. Would United be right to accept such a large bid for Rooney? Would Chelsea be paying over the odds? Thoughts welcome below.
