Chelsea Transfer News: £8 Million Deal Agreed For Marco Van Ginkel

Teamtalk reports. The 20-year-old will become Chelsea's second signing of the summer, subject to contract discussions and a medical. The Stamford Bridge club confirmed earlier this morning that a deal has been reached for the Dutch under-21 and now the Blues will focus on personal terms. A statement on the club's website said;

"The player will join Chelsea subject to a medical, agreement of personal terms and legal documentation."
Van Ginkel signed for Vitesse when he was just seven-years-old and after thirteen years at the club, the midfielder had cemented his position in the side appearing in 33 games last season and scoring eight goals, helping Arnhem finish in the top four of the Eredivisie. He was voted as young the Dutch young player of the year and he made his full international debut against Germany last November, when he came on as a substitute. Premier League champions Manchester Unitedwere said to be keeping an eye on the youngster with Moyes at one time considering a £15 million bid for the player. It is still unclear if any rivals could hijack the move but with Chelsea having the edge, the deal is likely to be completed without to many problems.
