Chelsea Transfer News: Fernando Torres Could Replace Roberto Soldado At Valencia?

Metro. Soldado, pending the resolution of an impasse over his £25.8 million release clause - is Tottenham bound, and the La Liga outfit have drawn up a list of replacements. Valencia boss Miroslav Duckic wants Arsenal's Oliver Giroud or Real Zaragoza€™s Helder Postiga, though neither target looks realistic. Los Che have now therefore contacted Torres's representatives over a potential move back to Spain but are hoping the Blues show some flexibility in their £20 million valuation of the former Atletico Madrid star. With the possible arrival of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney this summer, first team chances may lay thin on the ground should Torres remain at Stamford Bridge next season. The 29-year-old suffered from a drastic dip in form last season, managing to score just one Premier League goal so far this year, and has only scored 34 times in 131 appearances for Chelsea since his £50 million move from Liverpool. However, Torres did impress in last season's Europa League - scoring 9 times in 16 outing as the Blues won the competition - as well as at this summer's Confederations Cup. "El Nino" won the Golden Boot Award in that competition, form which has led to Valencia's interest in the striker.
