Chelsea Transfer News: Late Bid For Andriy Yarmolenko?

Sports Direct News. The Dynamo Kiev striker has attracted the interest of both Premier League heavyweights this summer and the two clubs are set to go head-to-head for his signature. The 23-year-old has been in impressive form in recent seasons, scoring 34 goals since 2010, while he has also bagged three goals in seven appearances for Kiev so far this season. Liverpool are understood to have failed with a £20 million bid for the Ukraine international, with manager Brendan Rodgers considering making an improved, last-ditch offer. However, Chelsea have also entered the race as manager Jose Mourinho goes in search of more firepower before tonight's 23:00 BST transfer deadline. Romelu Lukaku could be heading back to West Brom on loan while there are continuing doubts over the futures of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba. Torres has been deemed surplus to requirements and has been put up for sale by the Blues, while Ba could make a shock move to Arsenal. AC Milan could alternatively throw a spanner in the works and wreck both club's aspirations of signing Yarmolenko by increasing their original offer of £17 million, having also had a bid rejected by Kiev.
