Chelsea Transfer News: No New Contract Talks For Frank Lampard

The Sun, Frank Lampard is still awaiting an approach from Chelsea regarding a new deal despite having just months left on his current contract. The Chelsea and England midfielder, who is now 34, has been the subject of near constant speculation regarding a new deal and though teammate Ashley Cole has extended his contract at Chelsea by a year (source: BBC Sport), Lampard continues to wait. Lampard€™s agent, Steve Kutner, has denied claims that the two parties have held talks regarding a new deal:

€œNothing has changed regarding Frank€™s situation at Chelsea.€
Chelsea€™s number eight is now able to negotiate a deal with other clubs, and if Lampard does accept a deal with another club the transfer with be completed on July 1st 2013. Lampard who will turn 35-years-old this summer has spent the last 12 years at Stamford Bridge after joining from West Ham United back in 2001. His contribution to the London based club has seen him play a major part of three Premier League titles. four F.A Cup wins and one Champions League victory, last season. Lampard has announced his intention to carry on playing for Chelsea and the England national side:
€œI€™m very understanding of where I€™m at in my career, but if I can continue playing for Chelsea then the next World Cup is certainly a target for me.€
