Chelsea Transfers: 5 Forwards To Replace Daniel Sturridge

5. Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku One of the more conservative ways in replacing Daniel Sturridge might be by using a current player and giving them a push into the first team rather than by whimsically opening a cheque book and splashing millions on a marquee signing. Romelu Lukaku would fit that bill. He is currently on loan at West Brom and has really impressed during his time at the Hawthorns. The nineteen year old has scored 6 times and provided one assist in seventeen appearances so far to help West Brom's surprise surge up the Premier League table. According to some reports, the club haven't ruled out recalling the Belgian international from his loan spell in January to provide extra cover for Torres. It might not be the "marquee replacement" fans had hoped for, but it would be a cost-effective move given that the Financial Fair Play rules will be coming into effect in the 2014/15 season.
