Chelsea Transfers: 5 Strikers Mourinho Needs To Cure Goal Drought

Chelsea's strikers are going through something of a goal drought at present. Midfielders Eden Hazard, Oscar and Frank Lampard are the Blue's three top goalscorers, while supposedly more prolific forwards such as Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba are lagging some way behind. Eto'o has only scored twice in the Premier League this season, while Torres and Ba have netted just one apiece, and were it not for the talents of Hazard and Oscar, Chelsea may have found themselves outside the top four in the run-up to Christmas. As it stands, they are third in the table and through to the last 16 of the Champions League, yet that only serves to paper over the cracks with this Chelsea frontline perhaps the weakest in recent memory. Manager Jose Mourinho tried to flog Ba on loan over the summer, got Eto'o on a free and abandoned any hope of buying in more firepower when he realised he couldn't have Wayne Rooney from Manchester United. And that has left him with an under-performing trio of misfits up front who are in desperate need of replacing. Here, we take a look at 5 strikers Mourinho needs to sign to cure the goal drought.
