Cricket World Cup 2015: 10 Dark Horses To Look Out For

A run down of the lesser known players in this year's tournament that are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Anyone with half an interest in cricket will have heard of the likes of AB de Villiers, Chris Gayle and Kumar Sangakkara. In the early stages of the 2015 competition, household names such as Shikhar Dhawan, Aaron Finch and Tim Southee have unsurprisingly already made the headlines. However, with associate nations Scotland, Ireland, Afghanistan and United Arab Emirates lining up alongside the ever changing squads such as those of Pakistan and the West Indies, there is a whole host of players in the current tournament that even the most dedicated of cricket watchers won't be clued up on. A competition that in the past has seen 16-year-old Nitish Kumar turn out for Canada (2011) and 47-year-old Nolan Clarke take the field for the Netherlands (1996), the Cricket World Cup is an opportunity for lesser known and even relatively unknown players to execute their skills on the international stage. 2015 sees an abundance of English County Cricket stars in action for Scotland and Ireland while the United Arab Emirates side that includes 43-year-old Khurram Khan is a team composed of amateurs. Here are ten players to watch that you may not have heard of.
