Crystal Palace 3-1 West Bromwich Albion: 5 Key Things We Learnt

Crystal Palace enjoyed a superb victory on Saturday as they emerged victorious against West Bromwich Albion at Selhurst Park, picking up a 3-1 victory. The game was a key battle in the fight to avoid relegation and Palace's victory means they are now three points above the relegation zone and one point off the comparable safety of mid-table. The Baggies, however, dropped into the relegation zone and it currently doesn't look good for Pepe Mel's side. Palace's victory showed us some key things about Tony Pulis' side that could prove to be hugely important between now and May. Their display raises some points that ultimately suggest that Crystal Palace will stay in the Premier League, though of course they will face a difficult and wholly different test in their next two games against Everton and Manchester United. And then there's West Brom, who struggle to win and didn't put in a good overall performance during the 90 minutes. These are hard times for the Baggies, whose decision to sell Shane Long looks more and more baffling as the weeks and fixtures pass. The next few games could be vital as they face Fulham, in the middle of clashes with Chelsea and Manchester United. Read on for five things the game taught us on Saturday.
