RB - Mathieu Debuchy (France)
This was one of the few spots on the team that was hotly contested. I thought that Glen Johnson had a good tournament. João Pereira and Alvaro Arbeloa were solid as well and I even thought about putting Philipp Lahm in at right back even though he played on the other side for Germany. When it boiled down to it though none of them impressed me the way Debuchy did. He was a constant threat in a woefully poor French side. Playing as a full back he was more of an attacking threat than Karim Benzema and I thought it was damn shame that in the quarter final against Spain Laurent Blanc opted to play him in front of another right back to try to stop Jordi Alba. £6 million is a bargain and I wouldn’t be surprised if after his performances in the Polkraine Euro’s if Lille added a few more millions onto his price tag.

Really good list, I agree with the majority of your selection. Iniesta is for my money though the world’s second best player and fully deserves the Ballon D’or provided he keeps up this form into the next season.
Pepe and Hummels were better than Spain’s centre backs.
