Everton 3-3 Liverpool: Player Ratings

As adverts for the Premier League go, you will be hard pressed to find a better match than the Merseyside derby.

This topsy turvy encounter at Goodison Park saw Liverpool lead hosts Everton twice at 1-0 and 2-1 only to fall behind and eventually claw back a thrilling draw. Neutrals were delighted by an all action, incident laden affair whilst Toffees and Reds fans took turns to tear their hair out. Set piece defending was particularly poor as five of the six goals came from such situations in the cauldron of Goodison. Philippe Coutinho struck early for Liverpool only for Kevin Mirallas to cancel that out. Rodgers's Reds went back ahead through Luis Suarez, however, and stayed there until Romelu Lukaku bagged a second half brace. Daniel Sturridge came off the bench to rescue the visitors by equalising late on. In amongst thick and fast frantic action Mirallas may have been sent off and Everton also lost left back Leighton Baines to injury. There was so much going on here that the real winners of this captivating six-goal thriller may be Premier League leaders Arsenal. We shall wait and see. Who caught the eye here?
