Everton Transfer News: Hull Agree Fee For Nikica Jelavic

Hull City Tigers have agreed a fee with Everton for out of favour striker Nikica Jelavic.

The 28-year-old Croatian international has played second fiddle to loan star Romelu Lukaku at Goodison Park this season. As a result Jelavic has made just five Premier League starts this term, but reminded top flight teams of his attributes by bagging a brace in the Toffees' FA Cup win over QPR.

Jelavic will now discuss personal terms ahead of a proposed move to the KC Stadium. Tigers boss Steve Bruce is understood to have made strengthening his attacking options top priority in the winter window. Hull have barely averaged a goal per game in the Premier League during the first half of the season. Scorers have been spread throughout Bruce's side with 13 different players contributing to the cause. Everton manager Roberto Martinez said he would allow Jelavic to leave Merseyside this month for the right price as he wants to ensure his place with Croatia at the World Cup this summer. Jelavic's Toffees career began with a hot streak of nine goals in 13 top flight matches after signing from Rangers for £5.5 million in 2012. Prior to his cup double, however, he managed to net just twice in the whole of 2013.
