Everton Transfers: Toffees Still Favourites To Sign Aaron Lennon

Unwanted Spurs man looks set for a move away.

With Tottenham apparently as keen as Newcastle to clear out as much of their fringe squad as possible before the transfer deadline passes, Aaron Lennon's future looks assured to be away from White Hart Lane - at least in the short term. The former Leeds player has seen his opportunities limited at Spurs under Pochettino since the summer and has been erratic in form for the past few years, but his pace is still an almighty weapon and he could certainly do a job for any team looking to add something different to their front line. According to Sky Bet, Everton are still the most fancied destination for the sometimes England man, and they could certainly do with some reinforcement after a poor season that has seen them a lot closer to the bottom of the table than the top. Stoke had been suggested as a likely destination, and Hull round out the top three, with QPR an outside chance, given Jamie Redknapp's confirmation that his father is looking only for loans. Meanwhile it looks like Sylvain Distin's time at the club is up with a deadline beating free transfer in the offing to West Ham.
