Fantasy Premier League 2016 Tips: 10 Defenders You MUST Consider

All great teams build from the back.

You get two options when it comes to picking defenders for your fantasy football team. Option one (which I selected last season) is to fill it with plucky, affordable shot-blockers who can hopefully take penalty kicks or deliver an outrageously precise delivery into the box. These guys aren't going to make your team look pretty, they're probably going to don the yellow of Norwich City or the black and red stripes of Bournemouth but the acquirement of these 4.0 million men can be crucial. Why? Well, you can now throw your fun tokens Jordan Belfort-style at the midfield. I'm talking the big boys, Eden Hazard, Alexis Sanchez and David Silva are now realistic purchases and all because you have got Michael Turner standing behind them. Option two (which I should have selected last season) is to pack your back four with some serious ballers and reap the rewards as Chelsea keep their seventh clean sheet on the bounce. The argument against this system is that it only takes a 90th minute deflected consolation goal from Alexander Tettey to rob John Terry of his six points (plus probable bonus). I've set out on my quest to find the next Jeffrey Schlupp and taken a look at some of the defenders that you simply must consider for your side this season.
