Well, another transfer windows finds itself in full swing and the now perennial argument , Torres or not Torres, started again with gusto. Whichever side of the fence you sit on with regard to whether or not Fernando Torres would be the man he once was were Brendan Rodgers and the American powers that be to take a huge gamble and bring the Spaniard back to Anfield, we can all agree that it has become an emotive issue for Reds fans the world over.
Cries of traitor ring in the air, while others would welcome the maligned Spaniard with open arms into a team with all the attacking prowess of an Emile Heskey tribute band singing “I will survive.”
But, would Torres want to come back? Would Liverpool try to rescue him from his Blues? Would the fans want him or would the boos ring out of the Kop like they now do at the Bridge? Well, these are the questions that abound the internet with tempers flaring in both camps for and against the return of the one time poster boy for Liverpools international pulling power.
So why the clamour? It’s just a striker that moved on to a new team, let it go, right? But somehow, we can’t. Let’s explore a few of the reasons why shall we?
