Former NUFC Midfielder Yohan Cabaye Admits He Is Considering PSG Future

Yohan Cabaye left the Premier League almost 18 months ago and the midfielder's presence has been sorely missed - yet the Frenchman has admitted he is considering his Paris Saint-Germain future at a "distinct" moment in his career. There has been a gaping hole in the middle of Newcastle United's midfield ever since Cabaye left for PSG for £20 million in January 2014 - and the 29-year-old would sleepwalk into the current Magpies side. It is believed that PSG would be willing to accept just half of what they paid Newcastle for the midfielder, with Laurent Blanc open to offers of around £10 million for Cabaye.

However, if Cabaye is to return to the Premier League for next season, Newcastle would face stiff competition from a host of clubs - most-notably Liverpool, who will more than likely be able to offer the 38-cap France international European football. Cabaye, who scored 18 goals in 83 Magpies appearances, has become frustrated with his bit-part role at Ligue 1 champions PSG - and is sick of continuously finding himself on the bench for important matches.

He has made 53 appearances for PSG in all though, scoring three times, but he was left out of France's most-recent international squad in March due to his lack of first-team gametime. When speaking about his future in recent days, Cabaye explained:

"It is a distinct moment in my career. I have never been through this before. "One has to accept it but also try to change it. It is super important for me, I want to play at Euro 2016 (for France, on home soil). "I need to speak to the (France) boss (Didier) Deschamps and my representatives to see what is best for me."
