Formula 1: 5 Driver Changes That Will Alter the Sport in 2013

The months of August and September are always a confusing time for the annual Formula One Season. It is often the time of the 'Summer Break', drivers and team crews alike have more time off and less races to prepare for. However, as the circus has its time off, the media world of Formula One is kept alive through rumours, misquotes and announcements. This time of year is affectionately known by fans of the sport as 'The Silly Season' and is usually when we begin to here the whispers of change in the Formula One paddock for the next season. Some of the rumours are realistic, some of them surprising and others are down-right stupid. I still remember the joke which came up every year throughout the late 1990s and early-2000s: 'Schumacher To Minardi?!' Of course, this was never going to happen but it reflected the absurd rumours that would occasionally crop up through the international press or the Formula One paddock itself. 2012 is no different to previous years, the internet is buzzing with rumours and possible team personnel changes, however if any of these rumours were to take place then they could change the face of Formula One in 2013 and beyond. Since 2010 there have been no driver changes at Red Bull, Mclaren, Ferrari or Mercedes and very little in the way of exciting change further down the grid but the transition into 2013 could be a completely different story which affects all of the top teams. Over the next few pages are 5 driver changes that are not only exciting, but also possible and could well change the running order of Formula One for the next couple of seasons.
