Frank Lampard's 15 Most Memorable Chelsea Moments

As his time in England ends with a move to the MLS we look back at the career of Chelsea's greatest midfielder.

Last month Frank Lampard€™s 13 years at Chelsea came to a downbeat end. After a trophyless season at Stamford Bridge, Lampard was deemed surplus to requirements for Mourinho and the midfielder had to look for pastures new. He will be unveiled by New York FC today, and will play for the Manchester City franchise side for the 2015 MLS season alongside David Villa as their second major signing. In 2001, following some impressive performances in an exciting West Ham side, he earned an £11 million move to central London as Claudio Ranieri€™s second signing for Chelsea and quickly became a favourite of the Italian, with the player becoming a first team fixture during his spell at the Bridge. Then in 2003, Chelsea got taken over by Russian businessman, Roman Abramovich who came with an agenda of success, bringing in many new signings and Jose Mourinho as manager in 2004. His takeover signalled a new era at Chelsea, and despite the vast turnover of players and the change in culture at the club, Lampard was an integral part of the new Chelsea. What followed was a trophy abundant decade, with 3 League titles, 4 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, 1 Europa League and 1 Champions League all added to Lampard€™s list of accolades. All these successes provided no end of entertainment and drama, and it is for good reason that Chelsea fans will look fondly back on Lampard's career at Stamford Bridge and recognise a genuine hero.
