League Predictions - 2013/2014 Season

Championsleague This is my favorite time of year. I love when the league tables are nice and fresh, with 0 points on the table (or just a few, since this article is a tad late), and there are almost endless possibilities with regards to champions, promotions, relegations, European places, and more. Plus, Football Manager is close to its release date, and that always makes my life much better. Being a big fan of pre-season speculations, I€™ve always wanted to write an article to that effect. While I€™m not going to be able to preview every league, and that is mostly because I am unfamiliar with a great number of leagues around Europe, I€™ll do my best to touch on the major ones around the continent. Shout out below if you agree/disagree and why!

Scottish Premier League (Scotland)

Celticpark Front1 I€™m starting with the SPL because it is home to the team that I support, Celtic Football Club. That, plus the fact that it is, perhaps, the easiest to predict in this list of leagues, gives it the starting position. On to the predictions! Winner: Celtic FC There is literally no looking past Celtic for the championship. Without the presence of Rangers International Football Club, the phoenix club of their original rivals (Rangers FC) that formed in 2012, Celtic€™s winning of the league is almost a forgone conclusion. Relegated: Heart of Midlothian Hearts have been disappointing since their 2nd place finish in 2006, and entered into administration prior to the start of this current season. They are sitting at -12 points at the moment, and it will be very difficult for the team to gain enough points to avoid the drop to the Championship.
