Liverpool Transfer News: £9 Million Offer For Sunderland's Simon Mignolet Coming

Sky Sports. The Belgian international is keen to leave the Stadium of Light this summer in order to boost his 2014 World Cup chances, and has also been linked with a move to Arsenal. Reds manager Brendan Rodgers could be on the lookout for a new No.1 with continued speculation linking Pepe Reina to former club Barcelona, where he began his career as a youth team player in 1988 before breaking into the first team in 2000. The Catalans themselves need a new shot-stopper with Victor Valdes refusing to sign a new deal at the Nou Camp and Reina could be tempted by an emotional return home. Sunderland though will be far from reciprocal to selling Mignolet, who was their Player of the Year last season. The 25-year old however only has two years remaining on his current deal and the club are aware that his market value will depreciate as time goes on, meaning they could be tempted to sell now while they can still turn in a profit. The Black Cats would demand at least £9 million from Liverpool, who have also been linked with Stoke City's Asmir Begovic.
