Liverpool Transfer News: Leandro Damiao To Snub Reds

Leandro Damiao Liverpool look set to miss out on Internacional's Leandro Damiao this summer after the striker revealed he is happy at his club, according to Team Talk. The 24-year-old has been on the radar of a string of Premier League clubs this summer including London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham and even Southampton, while Brendan Rodgers' side are thought to be the latest side to show an interest. However, all four look set to be disappointed with the Brazil international stating:
"The first time I was sounded out, I was happy, but I have to overcome that now - I am focused on Internacional - it has to be a good offer for me and the club. "A lot was said. I am calm, nothing has come and I am still focused on Internacional and in the Brazilian Cup.
Both Spurs and Southampton have been in unsuccessful talks with Damiao in the past, and the striker warned that it would take a substantial bid from one of his suitors to persuade him to leave at this stage of his career. He continued:
"If a very good offer comes, then maybe it could happen."
However, speaking about his player's long-term future, Inter president Giovanni Luigi claimed his club had received no new offers for Damiao.
"There have been no contacts in the last 15 days, not even speculation. "Many times an agent comes and tries to make conversation between the clubs but we haven't even had that. "Everything indicates that Leandro Damiao will stay."
Damiao is considered one of the hottest young properties in world football at present and recently excelled at the 2012 London Olympics, where he was the top scorer in the men's football tournament. He also scored seven times in 19 appearances for Internacional last season, and could be viewed as the long-term replacement for Luis Suarez, who continues to be linked with a summer move to Arsenal.
