Liverpool Transfer News: Luis Suarez Exit To Real Madrid Draws Closer

Mirror. The Uruguayan, who scored a sensational free-kick in last night's 2-1 defeat to Spain in the Confederations Cup, has made no secret of his desire to quit Anfield over the last month and now looks set to finally get his way after repeated attempts to engineer a move to the Bernabeu. He has told his club that they "must" listen to offers for him and has also spoken of feeling "disturbed" that Liverpool are not contesting the Champions League. The controversial star said:

"The word of the player is important €“ if you need a change, you should listen to the player. If I want to sign for another club, Liverpool have to hear the offer. All I ask is for respect for all the things that have been said. €œIt disturbs me that Liverpool are not in the Champions League and fighting for the Premier League which is where they should be.€
Clearly the player's desire to leave is quite obvious, yet any potential transfer could hinge on Real's willingness to make one of their most promising youngsters part of the deal - Alvaro Morata. Liverpool are determined they will not sell Suarez for a penny less than the £40 million it would take to trigger the striker's release clause, but with the Spanish giants unprepared to meet said asking price considering the player cost £24 million a little over two season's ago, the Merseyside club could be prepared to accept a compromise. Morata, who has helped fire Spain to the final of the European U-21 Championships and is the top scorer in the competition, has been identified by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers as a possible makeweight in any deal that would see Suarez head in the opposite direction. The starlet has hit four goals in the tournament to help send his side through to the final against Italy, and despite being just 20 has already made 18 senior appearances for Madrid. He is a player with untold potential and one that could yet prove key to Suarez fulfilling his dream of playing for Los Blancos.
