Liverpool Transfers: 10 Players Who Could Replace Raheem Sterling

Who's in the pipe line to replace the unsettled Liverpool forward?

If you€™ve had your head buried under the sand for the last seven days, you might have missed the latest episode in Raheem Sterling€™s lengthy transfer saga at Liverpool. The wantaway forward, who rejected a contract extension worth £100k per week earlier on in the campaign, was expected to tell Ian Ayre he wants to leave Anfield during his scheduled meeting with the Reds€™ chief executive. But the Liverpool hierarchy decided to abandon the meeting due to patronising comments from the 20-year-old€™s agent, Aidy Ward €“ who told The Evening Standard that Sterling €˜wouldn€™t even sign for £900k per-week€™, before branding Anfield hero Jamie Carragher €˜a knob€™. So then, it isn't hard to see that the Jamaican-born England international is hell-bent on forcing his way out of Anfield this summer, meaning it€™s about time for the Merseysiders to consider some realistic, affordable replacements. Sterling, despite showing promise in the earliest stages of his Liverpool career, is far, far from the finished article. He's struggled in a Liverpool side that's been starved of last season's dynamic duo Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, who, let's be honest, made a lot of players look better than they actually are. Sterling included. Fear not Liverpool fans - there are replacements out there - and here are ten forwards who could replace Sterling should the England man depart the club this summer.
