Liverpool Transfers: 5 Blockbuster Signings Brendan Rodgers Could Make In January

Liverpool's steady progress this season suffered a setback when they lost their top of the table clash at Arsenal 2-0 at the weekend. Whilst the Reds remain in the chasing pack along with the Gunners' London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, boss Brendan Rodgers will be targeting January reinforcements. Central midfield may be one area in particular that the Merseyside outfit will look to strengthen. Wide areas too may receive attention from Rodgers. And then there's Luis Suarez. Speculation continues to be rife about the controversial Uruguayan's future at Anfield. The Reds' summer recruitment was substantial, but has had mixed results. Spanish forward pair Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto have struggled to make an impact. Defenders Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho meanwhile have been regulars in a back three in front of Belgian keeper Simon Mignolet. Loan signings Aly Cissokho and Victor Moses have been in and out of the team. Talented Portuguese defender Tiago Ilori, born in London and therefore eligible to switch international allegiance to England, is yet to make his Reds debut.
