Dempsey Liverpool missed out on the signing of Clint Dempsey from Fulham in the transfer window last summer after the club's owners Fenway Sports Group reportedly refused to provide Rodgers with the necessary funds to land the attacking midfielder/striker.* As a result, the American ended up moving to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a £6 million deal.** However, Dempsey hasn't settled at White Hart Lane, and has only made two full appearances since December 1st, having to settle as a substitute since then. Since leaving Fulham he has also only played 6 full games out of 21 league fixtures.
