Liverpool Transfers: 5 Goalscoring Options Brendan Rodgers Must Consider

Clear Cut Chance conversion rate of 28.99 % - the third worst in the league. Shot accuracy of 39% - the sixth worst in the league. Completely dependent on one player with this player scoring a whopping 52% of their Premier League goals. Yes, I'm talking about Liverpool Football Club. It's one of the most documented stories of the 12/13 Premier League season that, for all their good build up play and chance creation stats, Liverpool simply do not score enough goals. This season they have been heavily dependent on the majestic performances of the jester Suarez to rescue them. Not even Kop Idol Steven Gerrard has hit his usual goalscoring heights. The decision to allow Andy Carroll to leave without a ready replacement is still confusing Kopites, pundits and fanzines around the world. Others are wondering if Fabio Borini will ever live up to the excitement that BR has for him (BR being Brendan Rodgers for the course of this article). To be honest the only reason Liverpool do not currently sit nearer to the foot of the Premier League table is thanks to the fact they create so much that eventually a shot flies in to the back of the net, usually to the relief of the Kop faithful rather than to their joy. In this article, I'll look at some of the options I believe BR could find accessible during the January transfer market that will ease the burden on lone marksman Luis Suarez and help fire Liverpool closer to those coveted Champions League places. Things to be considered are whether or not they carry a realistic price tag, whether of not they represent the ideal player with relation to FSG's set criteria and whether or not they would fit into BR's set philosophy.
