Liverpool have been one of the most active Premier League clubs in this summer’s transfer market, with manager Brendan Rodgers having already signed four new recruits.

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, defender Kolo Toure, winger Luis Alberto and forward Iago Aspas have all been signed by the Merseyside giants over the last couple of weeks, but the spending isn’t going to end there.

Last week, we reported that Rodgers wants to make a “marquee signing” this summer as the Northern Irishman plans yet another pursuit of that increasingly elusive Premier League title next season.

With that, all talk recently has been about who will be coming through the Anfield entrance rather than who might be departing.

Stalwart Steven Gerrard is close to signing an extension at the club, but what of news at the opposite end of the spectrum? Who might be leaving the club this summer?

Winger Stewart Downing has been linked with a move to West Ham recently, having struggled to hold down a place in the Reds side.

If the England international does leave, Liverpool are going to need to bring in a new left-winger.

Here, we examine 5 possible options available to Brendan Rodgers.
