Liverpool Transfers: 5 Left-Wingers Brendan Rodgers Must Buy

5. Scott Sinclair

sinclair One option for manager Brendan Rodgers is Manchester City's out-of-favour Scott Sinclair. The England international, bought from Swansea City last summer, made just the three Premier League starts for City last season, and featured in only 14 overall games. Liverpool were linked with a move for Sinclair back in May after now-former City manager Roberto Mancini suggested the 24-year-old may not have a future at the Etihad. Since then, Newcastle United have entered the race for his signature, and are considered favourites. However, a move to a club with more realistic European aspirations may appeal, and the Magpies struggled last season. Sinclair is a product of the Bristol Rovers and Chelsea youth academies and made 5 senior appearances for the Blues. He has played for a host of other clubs since and particularly excelled at Swansea, where he netted 28 goals in 82 appearances.
