Liverpool Transfers: 5 Signings That Could Make Reds Great Again

5. Ron-Robert Zieler

Zieler Brendan Rodgers is thought to be "unconvinced" that Liverpool veteran Pepe Reina is still the right man between the sticks and has been contemplating lining up a replacement for the 30-year old Spaniard this month, with one possible target being former Manchester United keeper Ron-Robert Zieler. Reina has made a number of high-profile errors this season and Rodgers wants a long-term replacement, and has 23-year old Zieler in mind. Zieler began his career in England with Manchester United as a 16-year old back in 2005 but a number of injuries prevented him from ever making a first team appearance at Old Trafford and his career there was curtailed when he was eventually sold to German side Hannover in 2010. Since then the German has made more than 70 appearances in the Bundesliga, establishing himself as Hannover's number one keeper and even forcing his way into contention for the national side giving Manuel Neuer a run for his money as number 1 under Joachim Loew.
