Liverpool Transfers: 8 Realistic January Signings To Revitalise Season

They can't do much worse than the current bunch.

Liverpool's season has been absolutely grotesque so far, let's be honest. They have almost played 20 games, in all competitions, and it's feasible to say that Brendan Rodgers' side's only good performance was in the 3-0 win over Tottenham at White Hart Lane back in August. Wednesday's 2-2 draw away to Ludogorets in the Champions League was another insipid display from the Reds, and huge question marks remain about the quality throughout the side. The January transfer window is fast approaching, and there are definite areas Liverpool need to strengthen in. Simon Mignolet looks as competent as a pub player in goal, and the cohesion and consistency in the defence isn't much better. There is a lack of drive and dominance in midfield, while the forwards are simply not contributing enough goals and assists in the absence of the injured Daniel Sturridge. Rodgers has said he's happy with his squad, and is unlikely to bolster it in January, but this could prove to be a fatal decision if he sticks to it. It's clear that reinforcements are needed if his side are to stand any chance of finishing in the Premier League's top four this season. The names on this list are all believable potential signings- there will be no talk of Liverpool bringing in Raphael Varane and Paul Pogba, for example- who have great quality but are also not necessarily indispensable to their current clubs. Which of these eight players would you most like to see at Anfield in January?
