Liverpool Transfers: Real Madrid Target Mané

The Senegalese winger is favoured ahead of Mo Salah by Lopetegui

Sadio Mane

New Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui has reportedly demanded the Spanish side complete a deal to bring Liverpool winger Sadio Mané to the Bernabeu.

Lopetgui was named as the new Real manager last week, before being unceremoniously sacked as Spain manager just two days before their first World Cup match. Diario Gol claim that the new manager has told Madrid president Florentino Perez to sign Mané this summer.

The Senegalese winger is allegedly preferred to star man Mo Salah, despite previous reports linking the Egyptian with a move to Spain.

Alongside Salah, Mané played a key role in Liverpool's season and subsequent run to the Champions League final, where they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid. The 26-year-old scored 20 goals and contributed 8 assists in all competitions.

Discussing his Anfield future, Mané recently said:-

I am very happy in Liverpool and my contract will last for three more years. But you never know what will happen in the future. I want to win trophies, especially the Champions League.
