Liverpool Transfers: Reds Set For Spectacular Double For Milner And Isco

Liverpool's attempt to buy every attacker in the England World Cup squad continues...

With the departure of Luis Suarez giving Brendan Rodgers an extra £70m or so to play with this summer, things are certainly going on at Liverpool. Having already signed a couple of Southampton players and Emre Can, the club have also stengthened with Lazar Markovic and are widely expected to wrap up a deal to bring in Loic Remy: but it doesn't end there. Rodgers has now apparently turned his attention to Manchester, in the hope of offering an escape route to James Milner as they make tentative inquires about the availability of the English midfielder. Milner, who is also being circled by Everton, Arsenal and Sunderland so far this summer should be tired of being on the bench at City and only started 11 games in their league winning campaign. And even if a giant wage packet is a great antiseptic, he can't be happy as a footballer. Liverpool already have a very strong English contingent in his squad with Johnson, Sterling, Sturridge, Gerrard, Henderson, Lambert and Lallana and that could help Milner settle quicker if he decides to join Liverpool. Rodgers, who could spend over £100m this transfer window, has also been linked to Isco from Real Madrid, where the midfielder may feel his starting place is in doubt after the arrival of Tony Kroos. Though undoubtedly expensive, he could be a perfect signing to catapult Liverpool closer to the league title, though the player has warned on social media his desire to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu. Madrid are unlikely to care for any single player's feelings about staying when looking to claw back funds spent - especially with James Rodriguez potentially about to join too - and with what looks like a near unlimited transfer kitty, it seems that Isco could be a very strong possibility for Liverpool. Another midfielder who has openly spoke about his desire to stay and fight for his place is Suso, who has no desire to leave Liverpool. After spending all of last season on loan to La Liga outft Almeria, he is aiming to impress Rodgers and battle to be into the first team picture at Anfield. With all the news of arrivals it means Rodgers needs to lose players and whilst Fabio Borini travelled to USA for the pre-season tour, the final details of his impending move to Sunderland should be discussed with Gus Poyet over the next few days provided the player does recognise the good opportunity. Also heading for the Anfield exit doors is Andre Wisdom who has agreed a loan deal with West Brom to further his development. And as for spending the rest of that Suarez money...
Are you happy the incomings and outgoings happening under Brendan Rodgers? Would Milner excite you if he arrived at Anfield?
