In Lucas, Liverpool have an intelligent, dogged, tough tackling midfielder. Although not the fastest, the Brazilian reads the game well, wins the ball and lays it off, and it was no surprise that Liverpool struggled when the ex-Gremio star was out injured. Normally he sits at the base of Liverpools three man midfield but such is the pace of Bale that few players can keep up with him. Lucas, like so many, would have to resort to fouling the Welshman to stop him, and that could be a risky tactic. So how about Lucas sticks onto Bale like a limpet mine? Sure, Bale will drag Lucas around the pitch but such is the attackers value to Tottenham it may be profitable to have Bale running all over the pitch trying to shake off his marker rather than looking to get into space to receive the ball. Jordan Henderson would also be a willing man marker and is slightly more agile than his Brazil colleague. However, it remains to be seen if Rodgers will alter his setup just to negate one specific threat
