Man City Set To Complete £8m Fabian Delph Deal

Only a medical stands in the way of Delph joining the Sky Blues.

Manchester City are closing in on their first major signing of the summer, with England international midfielder Fabian Delph expected to complete an £8m move from Aston Villa imminently. According to the Daily Mail, the two-time Premier League champions have successfully triggered Delph's relatively low release clause - a value that was set when he signed a new contract at Villa Park in January. It is also thought that personal terms have been agreed. Various other sources also claim that the 25-year-old is now set to undergo a medical.
Delph, who captained Villa in the FA Cup final against Arsenal at the end of May, was due to travel to Portugal for a pre-season training camp with his team-mates but has been left behind to complete his move to Manchester instead. In the last few days City have also completed the signings of two very promising teenagers. Turkish striker Enes Unal has arrived from Bursaspor, while David Faupala has joined from Lens in France. Both will play in the club's junior ranks next season.
