Man City Transfer News: Juventus To Offer Paul Pogba In Jovetic Exchange?

Manchester City want to swap injury-plagued forward Stevan Jovetic for former Manchester United and Juventus player Paul Pogba. The Daily Star Sunday revealed that the Serie A champions made an approach to take Montenegro international Jovetic, 24, on loan earlier this month, but it was rejected. Juve tried to sign Jovetic from Fiorentina last summer, but lost out to City. Since arriving at the Eithad for a reported £22 million, he has struggled with calf, groin and hamstring problems. This has restricted Jovetic to just five appearances. City manager Manuel Pellegrini is understood to be interested in rising French star Pogba, 20, who quit neighbours United for Turin 18 months ago. Two Italian titles under Antonio Conte later, he is rated around £30 million. Pogba won the Golden Boy award in 2013 given to the best young player in Europe. He has drawn comparisons with former City and Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira, who currently coaches the reserves at the Etihad. As a result Pogba is being tracked by Europe's top teams. Pellegrini will be looking to strengthen his central midfield options as Gareth Barry, currently on loan at Everton, is out of contract at City this summer. Jack Rodwell meanwhile has continued to struggle with injury problems, leaving Javi Garcia as backup to first choice pair Yaya Toure and Fernandinho.
