Man City Transfers: 5 Goalkeepers Who Should Replace Error-Prone Joe Hart

Manchester City 'keeper Joe Hart has been guilty of a number of high-profile errors in the last 12 months, and there's a growing support for those who think he should be replaced as a result for both club and country. Most recently against Chelsea, a mix-up at the back saw City's own defender Matija Nastasic attempt to head a ball back to Joe Hart, but the ball evaded the inexplicably onrushing England international, and rolled to Chelsea striker Fernando Torres to score a late winner. Mistakes are fast becoming part of Hart's game, and former City first-team coach Platt revealed the side had plans to replace Hart before he and manager Roberto Mancini lost their jobs in the summer. While not naming any specific goalkeepers they had lined up, many others have ideas of who they would like to see in between the sticks for the Citizens. So who should Manchester City consider signing as replacement for Joe Hart? Here are five options....

5. Fernando Muslera

Galatasaray 'keeper Fernando Muslera has been a name on the radar of many clubs in the last 12 months - with English Premier League champions Manchester United and Spanish La Liga winners Barcelona having been linked to the 27-year old's services. Muslera, a Uruguayan international, has been with the Turkish outfit since 2011, and has gone on to make more than 90 appearances in all competitions. He's frequently regarded among the top goalkeepers in the world, and wouldn't command such a high transfer fee in comparison to many others in Europe. Last season, he made 11 clean sheets as Galatasaray won back to back Super Lig titles - not to mention leading his side to the Champions League quarter-finals. His asking price could be as much as £10 million, and he could well relish the challenge of the Premier League and the chance to progress further in Europe.
