Man City vs Newcastle: Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups

Venue: Etihad Stadium Date: Saturday, 30th March K/o: 15:00 GMT

Match Preview

Manchester City will be sweating over the fitness of captain Vincent Kompany, who featured for a whole 90 minutes for Belgium midweek despite having not played for City in two months. Mancini made no secret of his disapproval today, but all will have been forgiven if he makes it through to shore up a City defence that leaked two goals to 10-man Everton a fortnight ago to all but end their Premier League defence. City must now refocus their attentions to defending second spot from Chelsea, and a win here against Newcastle would go some way to cementing the rather consolatory prize of runners up. History suggests this should be a routine win for Mancini's men. City are unbeaten in the last 12 meetings between the two sides, winning 10 of those, while Newcastle haven't beaten them away from home since Alan Shearer's winning goal in September 2000. And City will know a win is imperative if they are to prevent hastening United's imperious match to the title. Click next for Team News and Likely Line-Ups
