Man Ud Transfers: 5 Strikers To Replace Wayne Rooney

second transfer request in three seasons, it seems the much-talked about forward may be ready to leave Old Trafford and find a new challenge. The 27-year-old has been a key man for The Red Devils ever since joining the club back in 2004 for a fee of £27 million and winning countless trophies but despite the Premier League champions stating that the Red Devils are unwilling to sell the Englishman, all signs point to a summer transfer away from Old Trafford for the United forward. He has been linked with several top European clubs in the past several weeks such as Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain and London club Arsenal. The unhappy striker has been left frustrated at Old Trafford after being left out of key games for the club, including not being picked in the starting eleven for the 2-1 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid. Rooney has netted 12 goals this Premier League season, a disappointing stat considering he scored 27 goals in the 2011/12 season. Rooney has been somewhat demoted due to the arrival of Robin van Persie, with the Dutchman making the biggest contribution to United€™s Premier League winning season. Despite Manchester United refusing to let Rooney leave, here are five players that can replace Rooney should he force a move away from the club.
