Man Utd Agree £14 Million Daley Blind Signing

Ajax defender will become a United player once a medical and personal terms are agreed.

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Ajax for the signing of defender Daley Blind. Although officially undisclosed at this point, Sky Sports understands that the fee is £14 million for the full-back. The Dutch international, who played in the World Cup for Louis van Gaal's Holland, will become the latest new Old Trafford recruit, pending the completion of a medical and personal terms. Blind, 24, was withdrawn from Dutch champion's Ajax's squad for their match on Sunday at Gronigen as his United signing looked imminent. New defenders became top of Louis van Gaal's most wanted list this week after having completed the signing of Angel di Maria from Real Madrid for a British transfer record fee of £59.7 million. The poor start to the season, which was compounded by the embarrassing 4-0 defeat to MK Dons midweek in the Carling Cup second round, meant van Gaal had to spend big to strengthen the weakest part of his squad. United's transfer incomings may not be complete just yet but it's departures they are being linked with now with the likes of Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley, Javier Hernandez and Shinji Kagawa all being rumoured to be leaving Old Trafford before the close of the transfer window.
