Man Utd News: Robin Van Persie Will Be Fit For Real Madrid

Daily Mail. The Dutch ace suffered a bizarre hip injury when he fell down a cameraman's bunker at Loftus Road on Saturday after providing the assist for Rafael in his sides 2-0 win, and had to be substituted before half time. It was initially feared the clubs top goalscorer would be ruled out of next week's all important last-16 clash with Madrid, but his injury is only limited to bruising, meaning he will only miss up to two to three days of training. The Daily Telegraph report however that he will not be risked against Norwich on Saturday. Despite the absence of van Persie, United were able to go on and defeat QPR to stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League by 15 points, which was cut back to 12 following Manchester City's 2-0 home win over Chelsea yesterday. United are also well placed in the Champions League following Danny Welbeck's headed goal at the Bernabeu earlier this month. van Persie joined the Red Devils last summer after completing a £24 million switch from Arsenal. He has scored 23 Premier League goals this season to put his side on the verge of winning a record twentieth league title.
