Man Utd Transfer News: Ander Herrera Deal OFF

Manchester Evening News. According to respected Spanish newspaper AS, United sent delegates to the administration offices for La Liga in order to finalise a move for the 24-year-old believed to have been in the region of £30 million. Personal terms between Herrera and United had been agreed, with the midfielder set to earn £3.3 million-a-year from the proposed deal. However, the move dramatically collapsed due to "bureaucratic reasons", believed to relate to the tax payments that would have been triggered had United met the Spain international's 36 euro buy-out clause. The breakdown of the transfer was confirmed by SKY Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, who Tweeted that the move was off. This will come as a hammer blow to United boss David Moyes, who has missed out on a succession of players this summer, such as Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas. And now, further reports claim the Scotsman has also failed with a 40 million euros bid for Real Madrid's Sami Khedira. With less than an hour until the transfer window slams shut, there is some positive news for United fans. Everton's Marouane Fellaini is thought to be driving to Manchester to finalise a move to the champions.
