Man Utd Transfer News: David Moyes Set For Wayne Rooney Talks

The Sun. The 50-year old will not officially start at Old Trafford until July 1, but retiring boss Sir Alex Ferguson gave the former Everton chief a tour of United's Carrington training centre yesterday while the Scotsman also met the club's backroom staff. Rooney's apparent desire to quit the club having reportedly put in yet another transfer request will be top of the agenda of things to iron out for Moyes this summer and he's looking to get started early with news that talks between the pair could take place as early as this week. Moyes will ask the forward for his full commitment to the cause, according to The Sun, and if he does not receive the assurances he is looking for, will green light a £25 million exit. The club are prepared to sell the player if he does not want to remain with the Premier League champions, and Moyes does not want the looming shadow of Rooney's will-he-won't-he transfer saga to distract him from the huge job of succeeding Ferguson. Some United fans have already turned their backs on Rooney with a small percentage booing the England forward during last Monday's title parade in Manchester.
