Man Utd Transfer News: Red Devils In Talks With Joao Moutinho?

Could Manchester United complete a double swoop on Monaco on deadline day?

Manchester United could complete a sensational double swoop on AS Monaco on transfer deadline day with the Metro reporting the club are in talks to sign midfielder Joao Moutinho. United have already agreed a loan deal for teammate Radamel Falcao but might not be finished doing business with the Ligue 1 club quite yet. United have reportedly been offered Moutinho by his agent, Jorge Mendes, and are in discussions with Monaco over a potential move. The Portuguese international is thought to be keen to leave The Red and Whites this summer while Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal wants to improve his midfield. A central midfielder, Moutinho would be viewed as a considerable upgrade on United's current options of Anderson, Tom Cleverley and Maroaune Fellaini, while he is reasonably priced, with Monaco holding out for just £15 million. The 27-year-old came close to joining Tottenham Hotspur two years ago and may finally get his wish to play in the Premier League. Though United are on the verge of signing his teammate Falcao, who has passed the first part of his medical in France (according to talkSPORT radio) the feeling among fans is that van Gaal still needs to sign a new central midfielder with confidence in the aforementioned Anderson, Cleverley and Fellaini hitting a nadir. Should Man Utd sign Moutinho to play with Falcao? Share your thoughts below in the comments thread.
