Man Utd Transfer News: Zlatan Ibrahimovic Urges Rooney To Join PSG

The Sun. Since their takeover by the mega-rich Qatar Investment Authority in 2011, the French club have embarked on a spending spree and have signed world class players such as Lucas Moura, Javier Pastore and Ibrahimovic, and the Swedish legend said of Rooney:

€œOnly he knows the decision he is going to make in the summer but the project we are trying to build here is clear. €œWe are not content with being the dominant force in France, we want to be the top club in Europe as well. €œI can understand why the owners are interested in Rooney €” he is in the top 10 of strikers in Europe.€
Rooney has been tipped with a move away from Old Trafford ever since being left out of Sir Alex Ferguson's side to face Real Madrid in the Champions League last month, and should he depart, PSG are one of only a few clubs in Europe capable of matching the £200,000-per-week he current picks up at the Theatre of Dreams. The club's president Nasser Al-Khelaifi however has insisted Les Parisiens haven't made an approach for the 27-year old, who has two years left to run on his current contract. But he admitted:
€œRooney€™s a great player, one of the best strikers in the world. Everybody would like to have him.€
United boss Ferguson has promised fans that the England marksman will still be at Old Trafford next season. Rooney burst onto the scene as a sixteen year old for Everton when he scored a wonder goal against Arsenal in 2002. He moved to United in 2004 for £25.6 million and has scored 197 goals in 395 games, making him the club's fourth highest ever scorer.
