Man Utd Transfers: 10 Signings To Save Louis Van Gaal's Summer

Manchester United have been worryingly quiet in the transfer window recently...

With just a little over three weeks to go until the summer transfer window clangs shut for four months, Manchester United have been noticeably inactive in recent weeks. The squad that finished a disappointing seventh under David Moyes last season is in obvious need of an overhaul and there isn't long left to make the required changes. United have already signed Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw from Athletic Bilbao and Southampton, respectively, but over a month has passed since the Red Devils last dipped into the transfer market, and that has been cause for alarm in some sections of the Red Devils' support base. Rivals Liverpool announced their seventh signing of the summer yesterday while Chelsea too have strengthened significantly by bringing in Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, and unless United sanction at least a couple more transfers, they run the very real risk of being left behind once more by the chasing pack in 2014-15. United still haven't replaced the departed Rio Ferdinand, nor his former teammate and club captain Nemanja Vidic, while the sale of Patrice Evra to Juventus and Alexander Buttner to Dynamo Moscow leaves the Old Trafford club with just one recognised left-back in Luke Shaw. Cause for alarm indeed. There's still time yet however for van Gaal to bring in the players United so desperately need in order to launch a credible title push next season, and there's no need to press the panic button just yet.
